Day of Judgment:
Belief in the Day Judgment is also an article of Faith in Islam. This means that a day will come when this world will come to an end. After some elapse of time (only known to Allah), Allah will resurrect all human beings in order to judge them as to what they had done in this worldly life. Those who led a life of obedience to Allah and their respective prophets will be rewarded by Allah with paradise. On the other hand, those who led a life of disobedience to Allah will be punished for their sins. There will be a group of people who followed the commandments of Allah but committed sins as well. Allah will either forgive them by His mercy or punish them for their disobedience and ultimately make them enter the paradise.
There will be another group of people will were unaware of Divine commandments, none knows their situation except Allah. They are known as the ‘weak ones’.
There are numerous verses in the Holy Qur’an regarding the Day of Judgment:
(as for) those who go astray from the path of Allah, they shall surely have a severe punishment because they forgot the day of reckoning (Qur’an 38:26)
Shall We treat those who believe and do good like the mischief-makers in the earth? Or shall We make those who guard (against evil) like the wicked? (Qur’an 38:28)
Nay! do those who have wrought evil deeds think that We will make them like those who believe and do good-- that their life and their death shall be equal? Evil it is that they judge (Qur’an 45:21)
On that day Allah will pay back to them in full their just reward, and they shall know that Allah is the evident Truth (Qur’an 24:25)
Whoever hopes to meet his Lord, he should do good deeds, and not join any one in the service of his Lord (Qur’an 18:110)
But when the great predominating calamity comes; the day on which man shall recollect what he strove after, and the hell shall be made manifest to him who sees. Then as for him who is inordinate, and prefers the life of this world, then surely the hell, that is the abode. And as for him who fears to stand in the presence of his Lord and forbids the soul from low desires, then surely the garden-- that is the abode. (Qur’an 79:34-41)
